The TripAdvisor Traveling Movie Tour will be rolling through Miami today and tomorrow. Two travel-related films, Roman Holiday tonight and Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Thursday, will be shown for free outside in Lummus Park as part of this two-day-only event. The travel company joined forces with Suitcases for Kids, an organization (founded by a 10-year-old girl) that donates luggage and bags to children's foster agencies, because of the organization's grassroots activism and its connection with the travel-themed event.
"We wanted it to make sense so that we could drive maximum integration and awareness," said Erin Mills of the Michael Alan Group, the marketing and production company organizing the tour.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of travel bags, carrying cases, knapsacks, etc., which will all be sent to the Children's Home Society of Florida, which expressed great need for these items. To further facilitate the bag donations, TripAdvisor promotes utilizing the functionality of them by packing the suitcases with refreshments guests will want during the film, and simply dropping off the empty cases at the designated donation station after the show.
Also, in accordance with the theme, the tour is stopping at some of our nation's most prominent travel destinations including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston.
The park will open at 6 p.m. for the event, with the show beginning at sundown. All seating is first-come, first- served.
