The weather in New York's Madison Square Park on July 23 was sunny, with a chance of applesauce. The health-focused on-the-go snack brand GoGo Squeez partnered with MKG to deliver park visitors applesauce pouches from the sky, kicking off the activation tour of its custom, interactive vending machine.
Dubbed the "Goodness Machine," the structure, which was designed by MKG and built by Square Design, resembled the brand's signature snack packet. Kids were invited to catch the flying packets by pushing a button on the machine, which activated a launching mechanism, built by Stuart Heys, that shot out an applesauce packet from the top. Kids caught the packets, which were attached to parachutes sporting the GoGo Squeez label and activation tour hashtag #CatchtheGoGo.
The activation also incorporated a social media and video element with a custom video recorder that recorded kids interacting with the machine. The videos were uploaded to the "Goodness Machine" website as 15-second GIFs, which are available to view and share on social media and through email.
The tour also made its way to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, on Saturday and will stop at the Grove in Los Angeles on August 6.
