The Art Dealers Association of America previews its Art Show with a benefit tonight for the Henry Street Settlement at the Seventh Regiment Armory. The big art expo opens to the public on Thursday and continues through Monday. Tomorrow at the Waldorf-Astoria, the Asia Society celebrates its 50th anniversary with a gala and that same night a preview of the Modern Show takes place at the 69th Regiment Armory—that fair of art and antiques opens Friday and runs through Sunday.
Friday is The New York Times Travel Show, which runs through Sunday at the Javits Center. And that evening at the World of Disney Fifth Avenue flagship store is a gala to celebrate the opening of the Art of Disney gallery. Also Friday, foodies flock to Miami for the big South Beach Food and Wine Festival, which wraps up on Sunday. And in Torino, the winter Olympic games come to a close Sunday.
Monday at the Waldorf, the Broadcasters' Foundation presents its Golden Mike awards and Tuesday is shaping up to be a big day—not only is it Mardi Gras, but the Museum of Modern Art holds its annual corporate luncheon, honoring Lehman Brothers' Richard S. Fuld Jr. Tuesday is also the New York chapter of Meeting Professionals International's Jay Magazine Memorial Wine Tasting Dinner at the Hard Rock Café. That night the Brooklyn Academy of Music fetes its production of Hedda Gabler with the Sydney Theatre Company—and help from sponsor Gucci—with a benefit dinner held on the stage of the Howard Gilman Opera House. A preview party of the Whitney Museum of American Art's Biennial exhibition is also Tuesday evening (the bellwether show opens to the masses on March 2).
