1. STK Midtown

STK Midtown, which opened in December, has two private dining areas named after famous burlesque stars. Both "Misty Aires" and "Ophelia Flame" seat 14 or a combined 28. For a cocktail reception, the two spaces can hold a total of 50.

2. Stash

Designer Steve Lewis created intimate cocktail lounge Stash with booths that seat small groups, jewel box-patterned walls, and mahogany and hickory floors made to look like Thomas Jefferson's parquet floors.

3. Hyatt 48 Lex

The second floor of Hyatt 48 Lex, which opened in September, has four boardrooms, each about 300 square feet. The rooms each seat 10.

4. Viktor & Spoils

Taqueria and tequila bar Viktor & Spoils opened in November with groups of seating banquettes for after-work cocktails and Mexican cuisine.

5. Lilium

Groups can lounge and dine at the Gerber Group's Lilium, a subterranean space at the W Union Square formerly known as Underbar.

6. Alison Eighteen

Alison Eighteen, set to open later this month, will have a lower area with a private dining space as well as seating for 135 in an upstairs dining room.

7. RokkCity

Within the 4,000-square-foot RokkCity Rock and Roll music venue, which opened in November, is a V.I.P. area across from the bar with leather furnishings and metal finishes.

8. The Tippler

The Tippler, a 2,500-square-foot bar, can hold parties of 50 or less for both daytime and nighttime events. The bar's interiors are made from reclaimed wood from New York water towers.

9. Romera

Chef and neurologist Dr. Miguel Sanchez Romera opened his namesake restaurant, Romera, in Dream Downtown in September with 48 seats and interiors by architect Glen Coben. The private dining space seats eight.

10. The Experience at Ferrari-Maserati

Opened in May 2011, the Experience at Ferrari-Maserati has a 600-square-foot outdoor patio and 2,700 square feet inside with floor-to-ceiling windows, white epoxy floors, and clean, white walls. The space can host groups of 50 for cocktail mixers, holiday parties, and product launches.
