 A report from comScore shows that Instagram won out over Twitter for user engagement in August. The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago will host its SkyRise at the Willis Tower on November 4. The event challenges participants to climb 103 flights of stairs or hand-cycle the equivalent distance and elevation.

Sono Wood Fired will host its first Big Palate Challenge on Monday. During the event, local food writers will wear blindfolds and try to identify 20 ingredients by taste only. The $20 ticket price benefits Share Our Strength.

LAS VEGAS:
 Forbes: "On Monday, the MINExpo International trade show began in Las Vegas, and it looks to be a rousing success. There are 1,890 exhibitors, an increase of 45 percent from four years ago. MGM Grand, Las Vegas announced Thursday the completion of its $160 million room and suite remodel in the hotel’s main tower, marking a milestone in the resort’s renovation. The remodel, which began in October 2011, includes 3,570 Grand king and queen guest rooms and 642 suites.
