The 323-room InterContinental Tampa has just reopened in the city's Westshore district with eleven floors of luxury hotel elegance after undergoing an $18 million renovation. The property now embodies a contemporary yet casual sense of elegance with the flair of Florida style and sophistication. Owned by an affiliate of Lowe Enterprises Investments and managed by the wholly-owned Lowe subsidiary, Destination Hotels and Resorts, the new facility offers a spacious 7,000-square-foot atrium, 21 rooms for flexible function space, and the region's only meetings-specific amphitheatre with seating for 40. Throughout its combined 21,000 square feet of space—available for everything from intimate meetings to lavish affairs—guests will find professional attention to detail, personalized business services, ergonomically-designed meeting spaces, wireless high-speed Internet, and an executive business center. The Bayshore grand ballroom accommodates 500, while the Madeira boardroom holds groups of 10. Every guestroom within the facility contains an iPod docking station and a feather-top mattress. Rich in amenities, the hotel also includes fine dining at Shula's Steak House, Shula's No Name Lounge with six plasma screens, a ninth-floor rooftop outdoor heated pool with views of the bay and downtown, and complimentary airport transportation.
