Improv Comedy Club & Fat Fish Blue: Connected Venues at Pointe Orlando

E18858standalone

Entertainment venue the Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre reopened July 29 on Orlando’s International Drive nearly three years after the forced closing if its Church Street location following the loss of its liquor license. The new location has partnered with the adjoining Fat Fish Blue restaurant, which opens August 6, to form a combined dining and entertainment venue.

The attached venues span 14,000 square feet and can accommodate 700 guests. On the second floor of outdoor entertainment and dining complex Pointe Orlando, the two properties share a kitchen but offer separate menus.

The Improv’s 325-seat theater hosts comedy performances Thursday through Sunday. The room has three levels of seating at four-top tables; a sloping floor provides good sightlines from all angles. A 500-square-foot private room is equipped with a drop-down screen and ceiling-mounted projector just off the lobby. The Improv's classic American menu includes steaks, seafood, and pasta.

Fat Fish Blue is a bright, casual restaurant with seating for 80 at traditional dining tables and booths plus an additional 35 seats around the central bar. There is also a covered patio for 100. The menu features Louisiana Creole dishes like jambalaya, gumbo, and po' boy sandwiches, as well as Southern favorites like fried chicken. The restaurant's stage will host live entertainment five nights a week.
