When choosing entertainment for an event, planners often choose based on a particular theme or atmosphere they want to create. However, when the North Carolina-based Tribble Creative Group was designing Compass Group North America's 10th annual Be-A-Star national award celebration to be held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, they decided to deviate from the conventional and hired performers from across the entertainment spectrum for the November 11 affair.
Beginning with the stilt-walking butterflies that mingled with guests during the cocktail hour to the extreme percussion performance group that performed during dinner and wrapping up with an aerial performance by acrobats from T. Skorman Productions, guests were treated to four diverse acts of entertainment. 2U, a U2 cover band, provided the soundtrack for all of the evening's performances.
Act One had two sire wheel gymnasts twisting and turning in the center aisle of the ballroom while the stilt-walking butterflies wandered through the crowd and Dancing Waters put on a colorful water display in sync with the music. Then the mood shifted swiftly as BMX bikers and rollerbladers performed stunts on the ramp from Canavan Scenic and Light. Switching gears yet again, acrobats performed trampoline and aerial stunts for acts three and four of the show.
Throughout the performances guests enjoyed a three-course meal provided by the hotel with awards to each of the night's honorees presented between each act.
