2. Celebrity chef Cat Cora has added a private dining room to Kouzzina, her restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk. The Coronation Room can accommodate 24 people in a variety of seating configurations. The restaurant’s menu features Greek and other Mediterranean cuisine. The venue is within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios, so groups can move to one of those two parks for a private dessert party during the nightly fireworks shows.
3. The Citrus Club, a private business and social club on the 18th floor of a downtown Orlando office building, has several private meetings rooms that are available for booking by nonmembers for a fee. In February, the club completed a $4 million renovation that updated decor and technology throughout the event space, including the addition of teleconferencing capability and satellite TV. For meetings, the Duncan Boardroom is ideal for 12 to 15 people, and the Temple Room can accommodate as many as 20. For groups looking for a more elegant setting, the wine room can host dinners at a long wood dining table with seating for 12. The club has a full catering staff that can provide meals throughout the day.
4. The Tap Room restaurant at Dubsdread Golf Course in College Park recently added two new private event spaces. The boardroom is ideal for a meeting, with seating for 10 in plush office chairs around a large conference table. The room has a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Nearby in the golf pro shop building, the Fairview Room can seat 40 or hold 60 for receptions. An adjoining covered veranda can be used for prefunction space or for food and beverage stations.
5. As part of the $450 million expansion of the Peabody Orlando, the International Drive hotel added a new restaurant with private dining space. Napa is on the ground floor of the new 33-story tower and has a setting and menu inspired by Northern California’s wine country. The private dining room has seating for 20.
6. Just three miles north of the Orange County Convention Center, Matteo’s Italian restaurant has two private dining rooms that can accommodate 50 people each. The rooms have 50-inch plasma TVs that can be used for presentations. For larger groups, the main dining room is available for buyout and has seating for 314.
7. Dragonfly Modern Izakaya and Sushi in the Dellagio Town Center has private dining options for groups large and small. The 380-square-foot private dining room has seating for 32 or can accommodate 60 for a reception. The room has a projector and screen, wireless Internet, microphone, and dedicated controls for lighting and sound. For a more intimate setting, an alcove off the lounge area has a high-top table for eight. It can be separated from the restaurant with drapes for private dining.
8. The newest restaurant in the Dellagio Town Center is City Fire, which opened in February under the direction of Orlando restaurateur Manny Garcia. For private groups, a dining room in the back corner of the restaurant has seating for 25 at a long table surrounded by black and white photos of Orlando landmarks and streets. Dark red walls and an antique chandelier give the room a homey feel. It can be separated from the rest of the venue with long drapes.
9. Mitchell’s Fish Market in Winter Park Village has indoor and outdoor options for private groups. The Captain’s Quarters dining room can seat 48 or host 100 for a reception. The room opens onto a covered patio that wraps around the exterior of the restaurant and can be roped off for private events. The menu is printed twice daily to reflect the fresh seafood that is flown in from around the world.
10. For a unique setting, the Gallery at Interlachen in Winter Park can host meetings and events complemented by food from Cuisiniers Catered Cuisine and Events. The venue is owned and operated by the catering company, which is next door. The walls of the 1,200-square-foot gallery are decorated with a rotating display of works by local artists. The room can accommodate 150 people and has Wi-Fi, an LCD projector, and a screen.
