How she got her start: Virginia Frischkorn has loved events before she can even remember. "My family hosted almost nonstop, and it became second nature to me," she says.
After college, she left the east coast for Aspen for a “ski bum” year, which quickly turned to two—and then a desire not to leave. She took a catering sales position at luxury hotel The Little Nell in Aspen, and her professional career in events began.
In 2010, Frischkorn founded Bluebird Productions, a luxury and ultra luxury event production company. In 2019, she started Something Blue by Bluebird, and in 2021, she founded the Aspen Picnic Company.
"Throughout all of this, I had the great dream of creating something that could inspire and empower everyone to host the way I could for my clients," she explains. "And from that dream, Partytrick was born!"
Partytrick is a web-based platform (with a mobile app coming soon) that aims to help everyone curate the best of what they need in decor/design; make planning all the details easy; and ultimately empower them to actually put it all in motion.
"Partytrick makes all of this possible regardless of someone’s skill level or experience hosting—even the most 'event-shy' person you can imagine is set up for success," Frischkorn says.
What innovation means to her: To Frischkorn, innovation is, quite simply, all about new ideas. "I just love new ideas and the quest for making things better, one step at a time," she says.
"Several things have really pushed my quest for innovation in all areas of my life personally and professionally," she adds. "As a single mother of two young children, the renewed sense of curiosity and thinking outside of the box that young children encourage has renewed my passion for innovation. Additionally, I’ve always felt like a bit of an outsider and thus seek new ways to do pretty much everything in my life. Lastly, my early career in hospitality taught me to always anticipate the needs of others. Now, it’s just a habit that I cannot kick."

Memorable moments: "I’ve had the great honor to work on so many memorable events, from weddings to corporate events with insanely inspiring keynote speakers to milestone events," Frischkorn says. "The common thread through all of these is the shared experiences created and the energy that comes from a fabulous party."
Her vision for the future of the events industry: Frischkorn's vision for the future of events revolves around experiences that allow people to get back to their roots—in new ways. "Nothing beats a great experience in person shared with friends," she says. "While so much of the future and tech pulls people a part, I want people to gather and experience the raw, the real, the beautiful, the 'old' ways of getting together and sharing a meal, a drink, a great conversation."
She adds that how people consume information and experience events is faster and more interactive than ever. "I see services like Partytrick enabling people to curate and sift through the vast amounts of information to make sense of it all, versus be paralyzed by the quantity coming their way."
