New York's Beard Award Winners

Last year's embezzlement scandal involving James Beard Foundation president Len Pickell didn't hurt the attendance at the foundation's annual awards. Around 1,600 people attended Monday night's awards at the Marriott Marquis. The full list of winners can be found at the foundation's Web site. Among the New York winners:

· Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional: Joseph Bastianich of Italian Wine Merchants
· Best Chef New York City: Andrew Carmellini of Café Boulud
· Outstanding Chef: Mario Batali of Babbo
· Outstanding Pastry Chef: Karen DeMasco of Craft
· Outstanding Wine Service Award: Tim Kopec of Veritas
· Outstanding Restaurateur: Danny Meyer of Union Square Hospitality Group
