Tribune Rates City's Top Techie Hotels

Today, The Chicago Tribune gave a tech-centric evaluation of 10 area hotels. According to the report, local guest rooms are being designed and revamped to meet the needs of iPod-, laptop-, and cell-phone-addicted (read: young and tech-savvy) guests.

Among the hotels to make the list was a soon-to-open Hyatt Place property that is installing a "plug panel" in each suite, allowing guests to connect their laptops to 42-inch HDTVs and use the screens as oversize monitors. The Hotel Sax Chicago, too, made the list, described as the "king of next-generation hotels"  due to in-suite features like Xbox 360 game systems and Zune media players. For music lovers, the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago has a sound system that pumps songs by the guest's favorite artist into individual rooms.Rounding out the top 10 were the Affinia Chicago, Conrad Chicago, Days Inn Chicago, Four Seasons, Gold Coast Guest House, Peninsula, and W Chicago Lakeshore.
