* INCOMING *
1. PARTY DOWN: This year's holiday parties on Wall Street are smaller gatherings, often at less-posh venues. New York Times: "Banks that once took over entire floors of Manhattan nightclubs and reserved Midtown steakhouses are continuing to follow restrictions on the office holiday party, many of which have been in place since the 2008 financial crisis." http://nyti.ms/ZmSGko

2. PING PONG POPULARITY: SPiN LA has opened on the second floor of the Standard hotel. It's the fourth branch of the ping pong social club from partner Susan Sarandon that started in New York in 2009. The venues have proven to be popular venues, with Sarandon pointing out that Bill Gates was the first to hold a private party at SPiN. Los Angeles Times: "At the club's opening Tuesday night, celebrities including Vincent Gallo and Topher Grace nibbled on hors d'oeuvres, sipped Champagne and watched white balls fly at custom red tables in two rooms. Employees wore smart tennis whites, and giant black-and-white photos of table tennis-playing elite, including one of President Obama, adorned every wall." http://lat.ms/Ud2N6d
3. MTV MOVIE AWARDS: "Bridesmaids" actress Rebel Wilson will host the MTV Movie Awards April 14. The network announced its selection Thursday with a movie trailer during the finale of "Jersey Shore." Hollywood Reporter: "The video clip appeared in lieu of a standard press announcement, serving as a nontraditional option for breaking the news to viewers. http://bit.ly/YsnoqX
