Located in the River North space formerly occupied by the Gentry, the rock-themed neighborhood tavern Lucky Lady opened on New Year's Eve. The interior is decorated in hunting-lodge-meets-luxury-nightclub style, with mounted deer heads in every room and a large crystal chandelier over the main bar.
Music (mostly country and rock) is pumped in via a jukebox on most nights, and live acts occasionally play from a stage area near the front door. Four different areas of the bar can be booked for events, including a private room with a pool table, which can hold 70, and a separate basement bar that can hold 60. Capacity for a full buyout is approximately 200 guests.
The bar offers 15 50-inch plasma TVs with DVD capabilities, and the TVs also allow clients to advertise on a ticker during regular programs. The venue will unveil a food menu this spring; in the meantime, its owners work with a list of preferred caterers.
