While Boston has always hosted plenty of expos and conventions, in recent years the city’s event scene has become increasingly diverse. Boston now hosts large, annual events that welcome everyone from gamers (Penny Arcade Expo East) to literary types (the Boston Book Festival), and foodies (Boston Local Food Festival, among others). As the local event scene becomes more vibrant than ever, our second annual list of Boston’s top 100 events lists the meetings, parties, and industry gatherings that have the most impact year after year.
To choose and rank the annual events on this list, we look at several factors, including economic impact, buzz, innovation, and an event's prominence within the communities it intends to serve.
