Shawn Feeney’s jack-o’-lanterns aren’t typical Halloween decorations. His San Francisco-based studio, the Invisible Underground, which will relocate to New York in September, specializes in surreal fruit carving, vegetable sculpture, and “edible alchemy.” His team has created works for the White House—including a skeleton constructed from three white pumpkins—Lucasfilm, the deYoung Museum, and the Black Rock Arts Foundation. In August 2013, Feeney teamed up with Dairy Queen and Orange Julius to set the first and official Guinness World Record for the Largest Fruit Sculpture with a 10-foot-tall tree made out of more than 1,200 pineapples, oranges, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, apples, and mangoes in Calgary, Alberta. Plus, Feeney offers pumpkin sculpture and carving workshops and can perform live carving at events around the globe. Pricing is available upon request.
