Campbell Soup Company's "A Passion for Food" Event
Submitted by the Steffan Group
During the Campbell Soup Company's customer appreciation event, guests at a special ladies-only breakfast heard a speech by author and Veuve Clicquot C.E.O. Mireille Guiliano and found custom-made, reversible handbags at their tables. Made of boucle, faux fur, and silk with velvet ribbon handles and enclosed with a brooch, the bags contained signed copies of Guiliano's French Women Don't Get Fat, a pen and blank journal, a pop-up map of New York, a Zagat 2005 New York City Shopping guide, and an American Express gift card for a ladies' choice lunch that afternoon.
Best Lighting Design
Time Warner's Holiday "Under the Stars" Holiday Event
Submitted by Related Experiences/Columbus Circle Experiences
Related Experiences/Columbus Circle Experiences kicked off the 2005 holiday shopping season with a starry spectacle. Hanging from the 150-foot ceiling of the Time Warner Center's great room were 12 14-foot-tall stars—created by Brooklyn-based Holiday Image Inc.—illuminated with 8,500 color LED lights programmed to jazz, rock, and classic holiday music. The bright holiday decor could be seen from Central Park and down the eastern end of 59th Street.
Best Overall Catering at an Event
Imperia Vodka Launch
Submitted by Tentation Potel & Chabot
Sumptuous was the operative word at the U.S. launch of this Russian vodka on Liberty Island. Tentation created a multitiered feast, with hors d'oeuvres such as vodka-infused meatballs and wild mushroom pierogies. A 30-foot dinner buffet included whole roasted sturgeon, suckling pig, and beef stroganoff. Picking up on a royal Russian tradition of offering small bites—called zakuskis—with vodka, Tentation served truffled beet chips, black bread toasts with herbed butter, and picked vegetables on ornate brass trays, accompanied by ice-filled silver buckets each stocked with a bottle of Imperia.
