Downtown’s new Mode restaurant has a 40-foot-long plexiglass runway down the middle of the dining room and a French-inspired menu (croque monsieur, steak frites, brioche French toast) that’s served well into the wee hours. With white vinyl booths and orange and yellow dome lights, it’s a diner with an edge.The owners of Cinespace will bring a classic all-night diner with a contemporary spin to the Cahuenga corridor. But Kitchen 24—decked in chrome, white seats, and dark walnut tables—will offer a couple of things that diners typically don’t: DJs and a full bar. The space is expected to open in late April.
