The marketers behind TrimSpa might have done well to anticipate the barrage of Anna Nicole Smith-related questions guests would ask of its reps when it placed its product in a prominent display at the Haven gifting house in Beverly Hills. But when we asked the reps if they’d been coached on what to say in response to questions or comments, they seemed unaware of Smith, her death, or her relationship to the brand. Nonetheless, they dutifully handed out samples of purportedly diet-friendly water to a crowd of already-Oscar-event-weary press and celeb guests.
