Julep Bar, a comfortable lounge from the team behind Blue Inc., debuted in the Financial District earlier this month. Specializing in house-infused cocktails and inventive small plates, the two-story space was designed with an after-work crowd in mind.
HGTV personality Tania Nayak designed the venue. To give it a bohemian vibe, she filled its interior with high-backed green couches, ivory ottomans, and soft lighting. Available for buyout, the venue can hold 400 guests for a cocktail reception, or either floor can be used as a private space. The top level holds 300, while the lower level has space for 100. Small plates include Kobe corn dogs and buffalo duck drumettes, and staffers can set up liquid-nitrogen ice cream and mashed-potato-martini bars for private events.
The venue has two 32-inch plasma-screen TVs that can hook up to laptops and DVD players, and a DJ booth on each level. There is a color-changing LED wall behind the bar and multiple gobo designs for the dance floor. Custom entertainment packages including trivia, Wii stations, and karaoke are also available.
