1. Jelsomino

Russian karaoke bar and lounge Jelsomino boasts exposed brick walls, an LED ceiling, and red and mahogany hues. The main stage area has eight tables and holds as many as 80. The backstage room is decorated with metals, director-style chairs, and a Jelsomino-namesake marquee; it holds 40. For private events, the recording studio has a small stage, suede-tufted walls, and a fiber-optic ceiling; it holds 15.

2. XL Nightclub

Situated within the Out N.Y.C. hotel, XL Nightclub offers three areas for corporate events, private parties, and live performances. The club and lounge offers a 100-seat cabaret and 14,000 square feet of event space. The space is outfitted with a large LED wall, digital projectors fit for corporate branding, film screenings, and viewing art, and a 32-foot stage. The entire space is available for buyout and holds as many as 1,000.

3. Gastro Bar at 35th

Gastro Bar at 35th opened inside the Tryp hotel in April. The 1,800-square-foot space is furnished with black and white bar stools, brown leather couches, and rustic wooden communal tables. The bar is illuminated by numerous lightbulbs that hang from the ceiling, and several chalkboards feature the menu. Helmed by executive chef John Walsh, the bar offers Spanish-style tapas and cocktails made with fresh ingredients. The entire space is available for buyout and seats as many as 142.

4. Bishops & Barons

Named after two Brooklyn street gangs from the 1950s, East Village cocktail lounge and supper club Bishop & Barons is outfitted with red velvet banquettes and zebra-print chairs. The V.I.P. room has a large flat-screen TV, and a small birdcage hanging from the ceiling holds a pair of stiletto heels. In the main dining room, a peacock structure stands at the center, and crystal-embellished chandeliers adorn the ceiling. The entire space is available for buyouts, and seats as many as 74, or holds 175.

5. Son Cubano

Latin-themed restaurant-slash-club Son Cubano relocated from the meatpacking district to the former Cain locale earlier this year. The new 5,000-square-foot location is decorated to call to mind Havana, Cuba, in the 1950s, with a palette of baby blue and white hues and crystal-embellished chandeliers. The private Crystal Room, located on the second floor, holds as many as 110 people for receptions. The entire space can be bought out for events; it seats 200, or holds as many as 400.

6. Demi Monde

Located in the financial district, Demi Monde offers several spaces for events. The cabinet bar area is enclosed on three sides by wall-to-wall drapes and is outfitted with banquettes and drapes in a powder-blue hue. The underground restaurant and lounge also has a chefs table; it holds 12. The entire space is available for buyouts and seats as many as 120.

7. The Liberty NYC

Located in Herald Square, bar and restaurant the Liberty NYC is set over two levels. The 4,000-square-foot space boasts 18-foot ceilings and a 34-foot black granite island bar that runs through the center. A 1,000-square-foot room is available for private events and has its own bar and bathrooms. The venue also offers nine-foot drop-down projection screens fit for sports, screenings, or brand launches, and a DJ mezzanine area.

8. Gramercy Terrace

Across from Gramercy Park, the newly renovated Gramercy Terrace has several indoor and outdoor spaces for events, including a drawing room, two gardens, and a parlor. With 1,500-square feet of outdoor space, the terrace boasts a palette of deep red and brown hues, leather furnishings, and unique light fixtures. The venue offers multiple configurations to accommodate parties of as many as 250.

9. Noir

Housed in a former opera house, restaurant and lounge Noir offers upscale ambiance and classic decor. The bilevel space is outfitted with a spiral staircase, hand-painted frescos, and tufted furnishings. A sleek upstairs lounge is available for a more intimate setting. The entire space is available for buyouts, and seats as many as 140 in the main dining area.

10. Inga

Taking over the former Club Mystique, Inga is the newest club to open on Chrystie Street. The space is outfitted with leather banquettes, Chinese-inspired lanterns, and textured walls. The three-story venue holds 250 guests on the first floor, and 150 on the second floor. The club also has karaoke rooms on the second floor, as well as a rooftop patio.

1. Beach at the Dream Downtown

Designed as a beach club, complete with imported sand, the 4,800-square-foot Dream Downtown's pool and outdoor café area is offered for private events. The space, which is furnished with two cabanas and 50 chaise lounges, can be booked for evening functions (between 6 and 10:30 p.m.) of as many as 300 people. There is a full kitchen serving a menu of contemporary American fare, an enclosed bar, and nine hotel rooms with direct access that can be used in conjunction with the outdoor area.

2. The James

Inside the James New York property in SoHo is a meeting space known as the Studio with an adjacent terrace. Groups of as many as 75 people can take over this site, using the 850-square-foot indoor lounge as well as the 1,000-square-foot Urban Garden. Amenities include an on-site audiovisual team, complimentary WiFi, and custom menus from the hotel's in-house restaurant David Burke Kitchen.

3. Out NYC Hotel

The gay-targeted Out NYC hotel opened in March, and although the boutique property only has 105 rooms, it offers a wealth of space for events. Among them are three outdoor courtyards that can be used for semiprivate functions, including the Great Lawn (pictured), which has green grass and a tiered stage.

4. Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas relocated its New York flagship in January to a larger site on Fifth Avenue. Within the 21,000-square-foot facility, which occupies two floors atop the Ferragamo building, is a 2,500-square-foot penthouse terrace with a rooftop garden. This section is available for events and holds as many as 75 people.

5. Loopy Doopy at Conrad New York

In May, the new Conrad New York will open a rooftop terrace on the 16th floor. The spot, which, in a nod to the Sol LeWitt piece in the hotel's atrium, is dubbed Loopy Doopy, will hold as many as 75 people and serve some bar menu items and cocktails.

6. Resorts World Casino

Larger groups can head to Resorts World Casino, which debuted its dedicated event spaces at the end of last year. Attached to the 70,000-square-foot Central Park room is an expansive terrace that overlooks the racetrack.

7. Hornblower Hybrid

Late last year, Hornblower Cruises & Events introduced the Hornblower Hybrid, which is powered by hydrogen fuel cells, solar panels, and wind turbines. The 600-passenger yacht, which has indoor and outdoor decks, comes outfitted with LED lights, complimentary Wi-Fi, and on-board touch-screen tablets.

8. STK

Atop the One Group's meatpacking district steakhouse is a rooftop dining and lounge area with views of the Hudson River. Outfitted with umbrellas and comfy furniture, the STK rooftop space serves a menu of grilled fare from chef Humberto Leon and seats 145 or holds 200 for receptions.

9. Catch

Also in the meatpacking district is the EMM Group's Catch, a restaurant serving a seafood-focused menu from Top Chef winner Hung Huynh. The rooftop space, which has an adjacent terrace, is available for event rental; it measures 1,600 square feet and has a capacity for about 200 guests.

10. Nolitan

The 55-room Nolitan New York hotel has a landscaped roof. The 2,400-square-foot space has seating that can be configured for events and offers an outdoor fireplace for colder weather.
