Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal
Submitted by NCompass International
For Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal, NCompass executed a launch that featured never-before-seen updates and game content, as well as the premiere of a single by Eminem. The entire program was designed to give attending media and community influencers opportunities to generate as much content as possible, and attendees had access to members of the game’s development teams, the global broadcast, a press junket, and hands-on game play with Xbox One versions of the new game months before release of the game or console. The content served to garner millions of live and post-event views, as well as extend conversations on and offline.

As an elevated alternative to body painting, Kate Kelley, director of business development and strategic partnerships at SoHo Experiential, suggests digitally mapping images or designs onto a human body. Projection allows the decor to evolve instantly before guests’ eyes, offering brands the opportunity to shift themes or refresh content without costume or makeup changes. Projection actors can be strategically placed throughout an environment as sculptures or as more functional elements, either to hold displays or serve drinks. Kelley suggests creating your own projection mapping with the Meta Agency. Pricing is available upon request.Â

While projected signage has long been an event staple, utilizing a dance troupe to create branding blurs the line between marketing and art in order to tease a product launch or showcase a company’s breadth of creativity. Silhouetted behind a translucent screen, dancers can use their bodies to shape words or objects related to the event—as Pilobolus, a modern dance company famous for its shadow theater, has done for brands such as IBM and Google. Pricing available upon request.

Pete Smith, Sarah Wellock, Tom O'Â’Connor, and John OÂ’'Brien of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios demonstrated LittleBigPlanet 3, the newest title from the franchise, on PS4 during the brand's press conference on Monday.

This year’s Xbox Media Briefing took to the Galen Center, with an attendance of more than 4,300 people, including broadcast, print, and online press, partners, developers, and fans. Spike TV picked up the live, commercial-free broadcast, and the event live streamed online as well. The event got an immersive set design from producer Zed Ink that flanked the arena from end to end. An 80-foot center screen changed dynamically throughout the show through massive moving semi-transparent scenic doors that opened and closed to accommodate trailers and demos of varying aspect ratios. Three additional LED screens stood angled on the floor as the backgrounds for satellite stages designed for the staging of multi-player demos and presenters throughout the show.

Highlights included announcing the Master Chief Collection for the Halo franchise, the return of Crackdown, and the new multi-player Assassin’s Creed, Unity. Zed Ink handled the creative and production for the event, collaborating with the Xbox Global Marcom team, led by Mark Harper, April McKee, and Beth Honebrink.

The booth also featured a playable multiplayer Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved experience featuring 30 tracks.

Sleek monochrome lounge seating made for an understated look at Cecconi's.
