
Event sponsor Scotts Miracle-Gro activated a tent that allowed guests to play games including life-size chess and watch the performances in a lawn-style setting.

Best Damn Brewing Company hosted its outdoor lounge at the Brazos Hall parking lot from March 11 to 15. The space offered attendees the chance to test out its new beer-drinker-approved office chairs, sample its root beer and cherry cola flavors, and try a root beer floats made with local Lick Honest Ice Creams. Outdoor games for guests included giant Jenga that featured branded blocks.

Warner Bros. and creative agency Giant Spoon drew inspiration from the 1980s and video games for the activation for the feature film Ready Player One. The entry tunnel featured a mirrored tunnel with neon lights, a wall of glowing cassette tapes, and 1980s props like a giant bust of the Iron Giant and the DeLorean, as well as a replica of the floating disco with mirrored floors.

The dating and networking app’s sprawling SXSW space was split into three sections reflective of the different uses. Each had its own corresponding color theme, but were united by honeycomb details and sleek fonts, built out by design company Preacher. Production company Pen and Prue Productions produced the event.

A gondola emblazoned with both the brand's name and the event's hashtag provided boat rides for guests around a lake.




18. To celebrate the opening of its Magritte exhibition, the museum hosted a gala in June. The event featured decor from HMR Designs, and clouds (a common theme in the artist’s paintings) hung over the dining area.
