Canada’s largest curated performance festival of theater, dance, music, and live art celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2015 and anticipates more than 25,000 attendees at 65 productions. RBC, TD Canada Trust, and Mill Street Brewery are sponsors this year. Next: August 6-16, 2015

#4 Theatre & Film Event
Almost 100,000 patrons are expected at this year’s 11-day event, featuring 150 dramas, dances, comedy shows, and musicals. Steam Whistle Brewing has signed on as the Fringe’s new main sponsor, and Now magazine returns as the media sponsor. Next: July 1-12, 2015

#5 Theatre & Film Event
The number of films intended for kids aged 3 to 13 shown at the festival increased in 2015 to 126, including the Canadian premiere of claymation feature Shaun the Sheep Movie and a special breakfast screening of classic Looney Tunes shorts and the animated shorts collection Peanuts by Schulz. Next: Spring 2016

#6 Theatre & Film Event (new to the list)
About 35,000 people from inside and outside the L.G.B.T. community screened 147 films at this year’s festival, which celebrated 25 years in 2015. RBC was a returning sponsor, and Bell came on board as a new one. Next: May 26-June 5, 2016
