The longest-running event of its kind, the International Beauty Show draws more than 65,000 beauty industry professionals who come to assess products from more than 500 exhibitors, attend hands-on workshops and classes, and interact with colleagues. The show, held at the Jacob K. Javits Center, covers topics including hair texture, men’s styling, makeup artistry, nail trends, and the business of beauty. Next: March 4-6, 2018

Joel McHale hosted the 2017 Fragrance Foundation Awards Presented by Hearst Magazines, which counted Katie Holmes, Adrian Grenier, Judith Light, and Debi Mazar among its famous guests. The highest profile event in the fragrance industry honors achievements in categories including scent, packaging, media campaigns, and bath and body products. Next: June 12, 2018

3. Breast Cancer Research Foundation Hot Pink Party

Hosted annually by Elizabeth Hurley, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party returns to the Park Avenue Armory in 2018. Last year’s event, featuring a performance by John Mellencamp, raised nearly $7 million to fund lifesaving cancer research. The theme “New Depths” will dictate the party’s look and feel this year. The foundation was co-founded by Evelyn and Leonard Lauder of the Estée Lauder Companies, with Dr. Larry Norton. Next: May 17, 2018
