By the year 2020, nearly five billion people around the world will be connected via social media, solidifying the relevance of Social Media Week. Held at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, the three-day event draws 3,000 media, marketing, and technology professionals who come to learn, share ideas, and uncover insights into the future of social media. Themed “Stories: With Great Influence Comes Great Responsibility,” the 2019 conference will feature speakers from companies including Adobe, Refinery29, T-Mobile, and Salesforce. #2 Technology Industry Event
The New York Tech Alliance hosts the New York Tech Meetup, a monthly event where developers demo new products to an audience of more than 300 attendees. To further its goals of connecting the city’s tech community and making technology accessible to all members of society, the Alliance announced a new membership platform that will include job listings, as well as a job fair to be held in April. Other themed meetups will focus on L.G.B.T.Q.+ demos, AI, and food and agricultural tech initiatives. Next: March 5, 2019

#3 Technology Industry Event
Some 20,000 attendees from more than 300 startups come to TechDay New York to learn, connect, and showcase their brands, making it the largest startup event in the country. This year, the action moves to the Jacob K. Javits Center, where organizers will once again present popular programming like TechDayTalks, Accelerator Alley, and Fireside Chats. Next: May 2, 2019

#4 Technology Industry Event
CE Week brings together 4,000 retailers, distributors, innovators, members of the media, and other stakeholders in the technology industry for a two-day trade show at the Jacob K. Javits Center. In 2018, the event featured more than 50 speakers covering topics such as privacy and security and vehicle automation. Next: June 12-13, 2019

#5 Technology Industry Event
Just 500 leaders in business, technology, media, and the arts receive the invitation to participate in the Future of StoryTelling Summit, a two-day conference that explores the evolution of storytelling. The 2018 event at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden featured roundtable discussions, immersive exhibits, and speakers including Neil Patrick Harris and Darren Aronofsky.
