AIDS Project L.A.’s Academy Awards party—which began as a party at the home of Abbey owner David Cooley and has since grown and moved to his restaurant and bar—will have Jennifer Love Hewitt as its host and Esquire magazine among its sponsors for the second year. This is the first year the party will add an adjacent tent to increase the total capacity from 375 to about 600. Live feed of the awards will run on dozens of plasma TVs beginning at 4 PM with passed hors d’oeuvres. A buffet dinner starts at 5 PM, with DJ Josh Peace spinning. Clear Channel, Finlandia, Bushmills, and Tanqueray are among the other sponsors.
