This week's roundup includes a dinner inside a shipping container in Toronto; hanging pink sloths in Miami for Art Week; a glowing installation from floral designer Jeff Leatham in New York; and a photo booth with neon palm trees in Los Angeles.

On display at Intersect by Lexus in New York, Jeff Leatham’s "Winter Glow" installation merges the floral designer’s mastery with bold, architectural sculptures in celebration of the holiday season, and is inspired by a country snowfall with forest creatures. It is open to the public until January 5.

To promote the upcoming Cats movie, Universal Pictures worked with Curb Taxi Media to furnish 360 of New York City’s iconic yellow cabs with a pair of giant cat ears. For the film’s red-carpet premiere on December 16, stars like Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, and Jennifer Hudson arrived in black cars outfitted with the custom cat ear toppers as well. The campaign is running through December 22.

On December 11, American Express partnered with Harry Styles to surprise fans in Los Angeles by giving away tickets to his sold-out show at the Forum via the Harry Styles Love Bus. The 70s-styled bus, which was inspired by his new album, Fine Line, then stopped by the venue on show night, December 13. Fans and card members had a chance to hang out and explore the ride before the show. American Express also provided card members with the chance to purchase tickets before the general public in select markets for the singer’s tour, “Love on Tour.”


On December 12, Pandora and Target hosted 440 listeners at Candela La Brea, one of the first Latin clubs in Los Angeles, for an evening of fun and music. In addition to headliner Pedro Capo, the event featured a Beauty Bar with Reina Rebelde products, a lush floral backdrop for photos, and the Caribbean glow photo booth with neon palm trees. The floral wall’s blooms were donated to Amanecer Community Counseling Services. The event was produced with NVE and Elemento L2.

Bacardí’s six-night Nochebuena pop-up, named after the Spanish word referring to the night of Christmas Eve, took place November 25 inside an Oss Box shipping container in Toronto. The space was turned into a tropical-style living room designed in collaboration with Canadian interior designer Candice Kaye, and each night had a mix of guests from different industries, including media, influencers, and bartenders, as well as contest winners. Chef Chris Brown of Victor Dries Catering spent the evenings cooking outdoors. In addition to the multi-course dinners served inside the container, Brown handed out samples of Cuban stew to some 330 passersby throughout the duration of the pop-up. Events for the annual gathering of the art world spanned from South Beach, Wynwood, the Design District, Brickell, and beyond from December 3 through 8. London-based Mexican designer Fernando Laposse was selected by the 2019 Neighborhood Commission in the Miami Design District to present his “Pink Beasts” installation, featuring sloths hanging from ropes, trees, and arches. Levi’s Haus Miami, which will remain open through February, is a creative collaboration between the denim brand and several notable artists and includes a mural by Shepard Fairey, who also supplied designs for the activation. Guests could customize their jeans (either purchased onsite or brought to the pop-up) via Future Finish laser-powered technology that provided more than 40,000 options to creative consumers. Loews Miami Beach Hotel provided “Art-Sea, Sun & Sand”-theme welcome amenities to guests. The array featured snacks, chocolates, charcuterie, and cheeses from Miami vendors, along with house-made treats including key lime pie, tropical fruit salad, and guava and cheese pastelitos.
