On Saturday night, Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton hosted the third annual Think Pink event. Created in 2005 by Elizabeth Weprin and breast cancer survivor Stephanie Robin, this year's event had a special twist. With the help of Kathy Fleishman, Amy Seidman, and Steve Rifkind of SRC Records, the team transformed the traditional fund-raising luncheon into Think Pink Rocks, an all-night concert of big-name performers.
A pink carpet was rolled out and lined with giant glistening microphones, where the night's performers and celebrities (such as actress Gabrielle Union and Miss Florida USA Anastagia Pierre) posed for photographers in front of the branded step-and-repeat of large glittering pink ribbons and the fund-raiser's guitar logo. Inside, Party Perfect covered the amphitheater with an abundance of pink balloons and flanked the stage with palm trees made of pink feathers.
Robin opened the evening by sharing the story of her personal battle with the disease before turning things over to the evening's emcee, Queen Latifah.
The evening featured live performances from Akon, Flo Rida, Shontelle, Melanie Fiona, O'Neal McKnight, Shire, and Tami Chynn-all of SRC/Universal Records. Throughout the night, guests clad in glowing pink necklaces passed pink and white beach balls from Event Studio Productions throughout the crowd.
The event benefited Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York, the Women's Center for Breast Care at Boca Raton Community Hospital, the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and Reach Global/JACOB International.
