1. Vancouver Fashion Week

Established in 2001 by Jamal Abdourahman, Vancouver Fashion Week focuses on cultivating the success of both established and emerging designers. Held at the David Lam Hall on East Pender Street, the event has grown to be one of the largest fashion weeks in North America and presents two show weeks a year, one in fall and one in spring/summer. 2. Annual Wedding Fair

The 43rd Annual Wedding Fair, among the longest-running wedding shows in North America, attracts 3,000 people looking for the latest on all things bridal. Organized by Vancouver Wedding Shows, the event is held at the Westin Bayshore. The producers also stage two smaller shows, the Fall Wedding and Honeymoon Show and the Spring Wedding and Honeymoon Show. Next: October 20, 2019

3. Fraser Valley Wedding Festival

This event, now in its 15th year, runs twice annually—spring and fall—at Cascades Casino Resort in downtown Langley. In addition to 70 to 100 exhibitors, one of the highlights is the interactive fashion show where models walk the floor of the show and answer questions about the gowns and suits. Gift bags and the "cake-off" decorating contest are other favorites for the 1,000 visitors. Next: November 3, 2019

4. Fleur Luxury Wedding Show

Organized by Aly Armstrong Event Planning & Design, the event includes a bridal walk designed to share insights on global wedding trends. At the 2019 show, the stylist and close friend of Meghan Markle, Jessica Mulroney shared her tips and advice on wedding planning and bridal fashion. With a focus on luxury, more than 1,000 attendees and 60 wedding vendors are expected to attend the next edition at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. Next: March 8, 2020
