Are you tired yet? Because New York is in social overdrive, causing the BiZBash Party Meter--our new device to track the social scene--to hit a swinging 9.7 measurement. The reason: The city hosted some of the biggest events in the world in the past week (or the most hyped, at least).
Last Wednesday saw celebrities crowd the opening party for Giorgio Armani's Guggenheim exhibit on the 38th floor of 9 West 57th Street with decor by Robert Isabell and food by Daniel Boulud's Feast & F?tes.
Thursday brought both Bush and Gore (as well as Hillary Clinton and Rick Lazio) to the Al Smith dinner at the Waldorf=Astoria, with flowers by Floralia. That night also saw Lot 61 host Vogue's pre-party for the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards, which took over The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Friday, with after parties at the Hudson Hotel and Cipriani 42nd Street.
And that's just the beginning. Tonight is Hillary's birthday party/fundraiser at Roseland Ballroom, with decor by Susan Edgar. Meanwhile, techies are invading the Jacob J. Javits Convention Center all week for Fall Internet World, and the music industry's CMJ Music Marathon (with its HQ at the Hilton New York) has bands playing at venues all over the city (including Bowery Ballroom, Centro-Fly, Fez, Irving Plaza, Mercury Lounge and Roxy).
Then there are the Halloween balls (including the Central Park Conservancy's tonight in the park, and the Guggenheim's on Saturday). And, if all of that wasn't enough, there's something called a Subway Series going on here, too.
