Christie's to Recreate Black and White Ball

In part to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Truman Capote's Black and White ball, and in part to preview its Plaza Hotel auction, Christie's will host a ball designed to recreate the famous party on March 14 amid the contents of the hotel inside the auction house's headquarters. The event will feature entertainment by Peter Duchin, who played the original 1966 ball, and his orchestra. This year's event will include a midnight breakfast. The auction takes place March 15.
