JetBlue Meetings Program Offers Planners a New Perk

Late last week, JetBlue rolled out a new initiative under its CompanyBlue Meetings program, aimed at simplifying the booking process for corporate meeting planners. The big news: a meeting-specific discount code that travelers (who are booking through CompanyBlue, the airline's meetings offering) can use to get a discount on the airline's lowest available fares. Previously, for planners to get a discount, they had to book flights for a minimum of 15 people headed to the same destination on the same day, from the same location. With the new discount code, planners can book individual flights originating in different cities, as long as they're all headed to the same destination. While the minimum still stands, planners can now access discounts for persons based throughout the country.Launched in 2007, CompanyBlue offers a customer-service desk dedicated solely to meetings and conventions, where staffers work with planners to hold seats for attendees traveling together and provide custom (and oftentimes competitive) fares. Other perks include holding seats for up to two weeks without a deposit and free and unlimited name changes. And for every 40 customers booked to the same destination on the same day, planners will receive one complimentary travel certificate that can be applied to the group, used for a site inspection, or claimed for a future flight.

To qualify for the program, corporate planners must be booking business-related flights and must have a single billing source. The program can be accessed here.
