On Wednesday, November 16, designer Tory Burch teamed with American Express to present her second-ever runway show—and the first show outside New York—at the Field Museum. About 500 invited guests included local American Express cardholders and members of the media. After a champagne reception on the museum's lower level, a fashion show took place on a white runway stretching down the center of Stanley Field hall. French music played while models walked in looks from Burch's spring 2012 collection, which was inspired by Deauville in the 1920s. The show was followed by a brief discussion between In Style fashion director Hal Rubenstein and the designer herself.
The fashion show was part of American Express's Entertainment series, which rewards cardholders with invitations to events that also include plays, concerts, panel discussions, and sports games.
