Racked.com: "Agencies like People's Revolution not only promote designers' shows, they also plan the seating chart, run the list, help people to their places (and make sure the right people are sitting in the right seats), assist backstage and make sure the show is timed properly and starts and ends in tandem with the music and lights, among many other things. NEW APP TO STREAM LIVE EVENTS ON TV: TechCrunch: "Livestream is introducing a whole new app for Roku streaming devices that will enable viewers to watch its live events and archived on-demand videos from their big-screen TVs. 3. DETAILS LAUNCHES 'TECH & TASTEMAKERS' SUMMIT: Men's fashion magazine Details held its first 'Tech & Tastemakers' conference, a move into the live-events arena that can serve as a source of revenue for print publications. Women's Wear Daily: "Conferences serve many purposes, to sell some tickets, for one, and these went for $80 a pop. But with this one, Details also gave some of its advertisers an elevated platform to promote their brands, live and in person. 4. BIZBASH ACQUIRES VENUE BOOKING SERVICE: BizBash Media has acquired the assets of Pogby’s ImBookin.com venue booking Web site for an undisclosed amount. The site, which currently serves consumers and businesses for general online booking opportunities, will be revamped to allow event organizers to book smaller venues online and with short notice. Initially, the service will focus on the New York market, with plans to expand.
5. DOLLY PARTON TO OPEN HOTEL, FAMILY-FRIENDLY ROLLER COASTER: Dollywood, the theme park of country music icon Dolly Parton, has plans for a new 300-room DreamMore resort adjacent to the park as well as a dual-launch roller coaster designed to accommodate some children as young as four years old. The resort is expected to open in late 2015. BOSTON: Prince Pasta, which has roots in Boston, is hosting 100th anniversary events this year. The festivities included a North End celebration on Wednesday, and a food truck will hit the streets to dole out free pasta every Wednesday in September. Why Wednesdays?
