1. C2 Montréal

Montreal
In 2020, one of Montréal’s most important annual gatherings was forced to re-envision itself. After postponing the spring event, which was slated to take place in May, organizers pivoted and unveiled C2 Online—Montréal 2020. The completely digital event, held in October, featured a roster of speakers representing diverse fields including entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, author Malcolm Gladwell and e-sports pro Stephanie Harvey. Tickets also included access to the Braindate platform, which allowed participants to connect virtually. For 2021, the hybrid event, held last month with an intimate in-person experience at performance complex TOHU, boasted a reimagined event platform called C2Agora, along with a new virtual networking space. 2. Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference

Sun Valley, Idaho
After a year hiatus, hundreds of the world's most powerful people in tech, media and financial markets including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gathered again in August in Sun Valley, Idaho, for the exclusive Sun Valley Conference—dubbed “summer camp for billionaires”—organized by the investment bank Allen & Company. Because of the pandemic, the family-run firm canceled the event last year for the first time in its history. Much of the programming for this year’s weeklong retreat took place outdoors in the Sun Valley Pavilion, an open-air amphitheater, as part of COVID-19 health and safety measures. Next: Summer 2022
