VENUE: Sugar Hill Bistro in Harlem

Harlem already has a rich history of jazz venues (the Cotton Club, anyone?), and the newly-renovated Sugar Hill Bistro is ready to join the ranks. Located in a beautifully restored brownstone, the venue features a jazz lounge and bar on the first floor, a full dining room on the second floor and a special event space and gallery on the third floor. The second and third floors have marble fireplaces and gorgeous wood doors and wall detailing. Harlem Renaissance photos by James Van Der Zee and original works by artists Leslie Powell and Sonia Lynn Sadler adorn the spaces, and chef Adam Elliott offers a menu of southern, Caribbean and European influenced fare.
