Here's a look at three new eateries in Midtown suitable for entertaining clients during and after business hours.

1. Covet
Spanning two floors on East 55th Street, this new restaurant and lounge is a convenient spot to unwind. At street level, a 66-seat restaurant serves executive chef John Keller's Pacific Rim and Mediterranean influenced dishes in a room adorned with Marcel Wanders Zeppelin chandeliers and Robert Lambert oil paintings. Below is a larger cocktail lounge furnished with marble-topped tables, bearskin pillows, and ottomans upholstered in cow hide print.

2. Zengo
Inside the vast trilevel Zengo, the restaurant chef Richard Sandoval and Spanish tenor Placido Domingo opened last week, there's a range of options for eating and drinking. The 120-seat main dining area dishes out Sandoval's Latin and Asian fare. Sake, shochu, and wine are offered in the mezzanine-level lounge, and a tequila library on the lower level houses Zengo's 400-bottle collection of agave-based spirits complemented by Mexican street foods.

3. Ma Peche
Launched last week, David Chang's latest endeavor sits inside the Chambers Hotel and, for now, only serves lunch. Dominated by an X-shaped communal table, the 85-seat minimalist dining room is enclosed in illuminated canvas panels and furnished with eco-friendly materials—plywood, particleboard, and fiberboard. Chef Tien Ho executes Chang's vision, serving French and Vietnamese-influenced bistro-style dishes.
