While not under the official aegis of the Wine & Food Festival, Friday night's peripheral event at the Hotel Victor sure created a lot of buzz. Held on the rooftop pool deck, across Ocean Drive from the Grand Tasting Village, the late-night SoBe Soundcheck offered a chance for many of the Food Network chefs and personalities "to casually have fun and kick back with friends," as host Rachael Ray, whose hubby fronts featured performers The Cringe, put it.
Event planner Dorota Kenar of Terlato Wines International searched tirelessly for a venue that could meet hosts' and attendees' needs before deciding on the Victor.
"We wanted this event to be very approachable," said Kenar, using a word that the Seven Daughters brand also uses to describe its unique wines, made with a blend of seven grapes. "The pairing of the Victor's intimate rooftop with personable and affable Rachael Ray represented the Seven Daughters brand well."More than 350 guests mixed and mingled with Ray's Food Network co-stars throughout the night, including Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri, as well as Miami local Gloria Estefan. The Cringe rocked the stage with their original upbeat tracks, as guests sampled late-night desserts compliments of the hotel's on-site eatery, Vix Restaurant.
