Walt Disney World Resort To Have Two New Neighbors

Hilton Hotels Corporation announced on April 12 that it would be launching two elite hotels, the Waldorf-Astoria at Bonnet Creek and the Hilton Bonnet Creek Hotel, in Orlando in late 2009. The project's total cost, expected to exceed $500 million, will go into constructing 1,000 rooms for the Hilton and 498 rooms for the Waldorf. Jointly offered will be 125,000 square feet of meeting space (90,000 square feet to sit within a state-of-the-art conference facility), 5,000 square feet of specialty retail space, an 18-hole Rees Jones-designed championship golf course, expansive swimming pools that overlook the golf course, and a 24,000-square-foot spa and fitness center. The Hilton Hotel will feature three upscale and specialty restaurants, while the Waldorf—the first one since New York's original was built 76 years ago—will offer many of the same signature food and beverage establishments as its predecessor.
