VENUE: Cielo's Intimate Chic

First there was the boutique. And then the boutique hotel. And with the impending opening of Cielo in the meatpacking district, the boutique nightclub will make its debut. Designed by Stephane Dupuoux, who designed Miami Beach's Pearl and Opium, Cielo is small and intimate enough to hold a conversation, but high-tech enough to provide the ambiance of a larger club, making it ideal for events. The space features a sunken dance floor surrounded by dark wood pillars and skirted by putty-colored banquette seating. To promote event business, the club will be closed every Monday and Tuesday especially for events. The 3,400-square-foot space can hold 300, and is scheduled to open this month. —Suzanne Ito
