For Spanish-style snacks in Santa Monica, Bar Pintxo (pronounced “pincho”) is a tapas spot with a full bar, opening today. A grand opening party is planned for the second week of January. Joseph Miller (owner and chef of Joe’s Restaurant in Venice) is behind the intimate setting, which has a capacity of 30. Menu offerings include soups, paellas, croquettes, tapas, cheeses, and desserts. Diners can eat at the bar or at the handful of tables in the back. Currently, only chilled items are being offered, but hot specials will be available in a few weeks. The wine list is extensive: 65 varieties available in three portion sizes.
