Terminal 5 Hosts BizBash's Preshow Exhibitor Party as Part of Grand Opening Celebration

December 7, 2007
The Fred Seidler Group hosted a pre-show party for exhibitors and out-of-town show attendees at one of New York’s most exciting new venues, Terminal 5, on November 7. The event celebrated both the BizBash M&C Event Style Show and the grand opening of Terminal 5.

The guest list included an impressive group of top event industry leaders, who were treated to an array of gourmet cuisine and innovative decor, plus three hours of nonstop entertainment and aerial theatrics. Blue and black carpeting with the Terminal 5 logo and playfully costumed stiltwalkers greeted guests on the street as they entered the venue. The dramatic entrance design by Taylor Creative included a sheer tunnel of drapes with dramatically lit floral-topped pedestals. Guests emerged from the entrance into the towering central space transformed by Mark Musters of Studio Mamu into a white-birch forest lit by white candles reflected on huge overhead white fabric circles. The 40,000-square-foot facility is two blocks from Pier 94, the location of the BizBash M&C Event Style Show.Seven top New York caterers created self-contained displays and delicacies, including country pate with bacon, bite-size bistro burgers, and black truffle turnovers by Abigail Kirsch, The Catering Company, Creative Edge Parties, Hudson Yards Catering, Match Catering + Events, Great Performances, and Sonnier & Castle.

Two bands, the UnionN and Synergy Band, and a DJ took turns entertaining the crowd while an aerial trapeze show by Acroback took advantage of the club’s 40-foot ceilings. Guests mingled on the main floor and on the second-level mezzanine, which featured a bar and decorative lounge seating.

Terminal 5 has state-of-the-art sound and lighting, excellent acoustics, and five unique environments within the space. Wraparound mezzanines, V.I.P. lounges, greenrooms, and a rooftop garden are offered for events, for intimate groups of 20 or for large crowds of nearly 4,000.
