Andy Fiscella and Chris Huvane (GQ’s West Coast editor) of Winston’s teamed up with Hardball Productions’ Matt Lavin and Charles Lew to open nightlife spot Crown Bar in May.
Designer Gavin Brodin is behind the venue’s 1940s-esque look, which features maroon leather banquettes, terra-cotta floors, and a mahogany bar topped with white marble. The venue includes a built-in DJ booth, and the entire space holds 250 people.Executive chef Chris Ennis’s menu of California cuisine includes Swiss chard and ricotta ravioli, as well as coffee-roasted organic pork tenderloin. A specialty drink list includes colorfully named libations such as the James and the Giant Peach (Belvedere vodka, peach schnapps, mint, and orange juice) and the Monet (Alchemy chocolate-flavored vodka, blackberries, and cream).
