The Fashion Design Council of Canada confirmed Monday that LG Fashion Week is on the move once again. The F.D.C.C. will present the fall 2010 collections, scheduled to run from March 28 to April 1, in a warehouse space located at 30 Ordnance Ave. on the edge of Liberty Village.
After four seasons in the tents at Nathan Phillips Square, the F.D.C.C. held the event in a former car dealership on King Street West last October. (That property is slated for a condominium development.)
“The new location for LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris exemplifies [the theme for the fall 2010 collections],” F.D.C.C. president Robin Kay said in a statement. “[The new venue] is a very powerful space. Formerly a manufacturer's warehouse, the unique and spacious decor creates an amazing aura that I’m sure will add to the event. I have great hopes for a powerful fashion future in this wonderful venue.”
The theme for next month's event, which begins on a Sunday evening, is the "Power of Style," which the F.D.C.C., said speaks to the strength of the visual and the creative instinct in each of us.
