At the Pink Bedroom Party fund-raiser preparty, supporters were invited to don sexy, chic, urban outfits to help raise funds for breast cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital. Jeanne Lottie Designs president and event founder Jane Ip held the first Pink Bedroom Party in 2002. The 2005 affair on May 4 marked the launch of the main event, which is scheduled for September 30, at the Liberty Grand, to coincide with the start of breast cancer awareness month.
The party was held at the Crystal Room in Queen West Village. Pink lighting designed by Jack A. Frost highlighted the evening's theme. As guests entered, they saw an offbeat fund-raising attraction called the Lip Imprint Campaign. For a nominal donation, they could create a lipstick imprint of their poised puckers. The lip imprints will be posted on the "Wall of Kisses" at the main event in September.
Pygmalian Decor Company designed the look for the venue, which already boasts V.I.P. areas with bed seating. The beds were decked out in pink with candlelight accents. Shoes, purses, and other accessories by Jeanne Lottie Designs were scattered throughout the space. Purses and knickknacks for sale by Jeanne Lottie were everywhere. It was a dream come true for many of the women in attendance, with shopping, cocktails, and snacks all under one roof-and all for a good cause. A fashion show of fresh looks for spring, held later in the evening, featured models from Sutherland Modeling Agency. At the end of the evening appetizers were provided by chef David Adjey of Nectar.
