Creative Time split this year's Fall Ball into two parts, hosting events on two consecutive nights at NeueHouse. The first night was a sleepover, enabling patrons to stay overnight playing games, enjoying music and performances, napping, and partaking in other activities. Pillows became part of the decor inside the venue, and the producers mounted a bed to a wall near the entrance and video mapped the itinerary on its surface.

Organizers also created and distributed a colorful map that showed the sleepover's 200 or so guests where the different activities were taking place and included a schedule. According to Chavis, for the sleepover, the main floor was designed as the party floor and the downstairs was viewed as a dream lounge. The conference rooms were suited to more intimate activities, and the screening room was taken over by artists Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe.

Macquarie Private Wealth hosted a Mad Men-inspired cocktail party in Toronto in the fall of 2011. Kim Graham and Associates produced the event and incorporated the 1960s into every aspect, including the menu. Appetizingly Yours served hors d'oeuvres on picture frames so that guests could see descriptions of each dish. The baked new potatoes were made to look like deviled eggs, a popular dish in the 1960s.

Anise and licorice flavors have been an inspiration for Miami-based Le Basque Catering & Production, like in its lobster caldereta with licorice, saffron, and fennel orzo (pictured). 'Pernod, which has licorice undertones, has always been an ingredient found in some lobster bisques and bouillabaisse. So we went further playing with pure black licorice extract and combining it with tomato-based reductions or saffron-based broths,' says Alejandro Muguerza, Le Basque president. 'We have also been creating ethereal and delicate dehydrated veils of this same ingredient, full of flavor in some dishes (normally with fish and seafood).'
