The largest auto event in the country draws more than one million attendees to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center each year. In 2016, organizers reported that 65 cars and trucks made their worldwide and North American debuts at the show. New York Comic Con continued to grow in 2016, adding events at venues including the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Hammerstein Ballroom, Hudson Mercantile, and Rock Bar NYC. Last year’s convention featured the debut of NYCC Presents, a collection of dozens of screenings, gaming challenges, concerts, dance parties, and more. Next: October 5-8, 2017

Sponsored by Progressive Insurance, the New York International Motorcycle Show attracts some 60,000 attendees each year. Last year’s event featured the debut of Vanguard, a new motorcycle brand, as well as a stunt show, a tattoo parlor sponsored by Inked magazine, a Kids Zone presented by Allstate, and an on-site hair and beauty salon. The National Marine Manufacturers Association has hosted the Boat Show for more than 100 years, making it the longest-running boat show in the world. The five-day event, sponsored by Progressive Insurance, showcases about 400 luxury motor yachts, sport fishers, performance boats, and watersport boats as well as thousands of marine technologies and accessories. More than 24,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 80 countries are expected in 2017 at NY Now, the Market for Home, Lifestyle & Gift. The event returns to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center this summer and will feature three comprehensive collections: home, lifestyle, and handmade. Next: August 19-23, 2017

More than 54,000 dentists and industry professionals convene for the annual Greater New York Dental Meeting, the largest dental meeting in the country. The event includes a massive exhibition of oral care products and a packed lineup of continuing education sessions. Next: November 24-29, 2017

The National Retail Federation welcomed nearly 35,000 to its 106th Annual Convention and Expo, also known as Retail's Big Show, in January. The show includes hundreds of educational sessions and panels, as well as miles of exhibitions of the latest in retail technology. Next: January 14-18, 2018

More than 30,000 attendees turned out for the 2017 New York Times Travel Show, which featured more than 525 exhibitors from around the world. Themed “Welcome to the World,” the show included a Wellness Travel Pavilion and a new Family Travel Pavilion, as well as seminars, demos, presentations, and live performances. Next: January 2018

The 2017 North American Toy Fair drew more than 1,100 exhibitors, 30,000 attendees, and 13,000 retailers, making it the largest toy and game marketplace in the western hemisphere. The event takes place in 443,000 square feet of space in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Next: February 2018
