The Alfred A. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner made headlines during a presidential election year by honoring both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Both candidates gave remarks that were carried live by C-SPAN and other networks. Named for America's first Roman Catholic Presidential candidate, the white-tie dinner honors today's political leaders and raises money for New York's children in need. In 2016, the Inner Circle presented Shamilton, and this spring’s show—entitled Trumped! De Blasio to the Rescue?—promises even more laughs and political parody.
