1. Washingtonian's Style Setters Party

#1 Fashion & Beauty Event
Every year, Washingtonian spotlights nine of the most fashionable men and women in the city in its September issue, with an equally stylish bash to fete these “Style Setters.” The party moved to the rooftop of the Navy Yard apartment building Agora at the Collective, as guests posed in front of an Instagram-friendly “Yaassss” floral photo wall from prop company Brightly Ever After. Electric Events dressed up the pool deck and rooftop, with Whispering Angel rosé and hors d’oeuvres provided by Relish Catering and a soundtrack by DJ Sean J of Pelonkey. Guests could even take home a mini bottle of rosé engraved by Meant to Be Calligraphy. Next: Fall 2019

2. Walk This Way

#2 Fashion & Beauty Event
Washington Redskins Vernon Davis and Chris Carter and Washington Nationals’ Ryan Zimmerman walked the runway for domestic violence prevention nonprofit Becky’s Fund's 10th annual charity fashion show. This year's show at the historic Uline Arena also enlisted athletes-turned-models from the Washington Mystics, D.C. United, and the Washington Spirit. The event raised more than $150,000 for “Men of Code,” a program that engages and educates coaches and young male athletes to become leaders and allies in the movement to end violence against women and girls. The show included clothing from menswear brand Stitched, womenswear boutique D/Eleven, and jewelry by Mindy Lam, while this year’s sponsors included Verizon, Audi, JSON Art, PMSI, Douglas Development, and White Star Investments. Chefs like Scott Drewno from Chiko and Jake Addeo of Occidental Grill prepared bites onsite, in addition to specialty drinks provided by Breakthru Beverage, Terlato Wines, and Peroni; and dishes from Profish, Ivy City Smokehouse, and Capital Meat Company.
